JANUARY

A wintry road through
Glen More
|
January is a quiet month on the
island for visitors - many of the residents will be enjoying the peace and quiet
and making the most of a well earned rest following Christmas and
Hogmanay celebrations. The traditional old New Year is still
celebrated on 12 January as well as Burns Night with many Haggis, Neeps and Tattie Suppers being devoured on 25th across the island.
Bird and wild life is active as the resident birds start their
courtships so there is still plenty to see and do outdoors. The
hunting and shooting season is still on going (deer and game birds).
Accommodation may be limited in January so check out the links to
the right.
